Dual-channel LIN transceiver

SIT (China) announced the dual-channel LIN transceiver SIT1022Q. It supports LIN remote wake-up function as well as data transmission rates up to 20 Kbit/s.

SIT1022Q is a dual-channel LIN transceiver that is compliant with LIN 2.0, LIN 2.1, LIN 2.2, LIN 2.2A, ISO 17987-4:2016 (12 V), and SAE J2602 standards. It is mainly suitable for in-vehicle networks with a transmission rate of 1 Kbit/s to 20 Kbit/s. The transceiver controls the state of the LINx bus line pins through the TXDx pins, and can convert the data stream sent by the protocol controller into a bus signal with a matching slew rate and waveform shaping to minimize electromagnetic radiation emission (EME), explained the company. The LIN bus line output pins provide an internal pull-up resistor. Only when used as a commander node, the LIN ports need to be pulled up to VBAT (battery supply voltage) through an external resistor in series with a diode. SIT1022Q receives the data stream on the network through the LINx pins, and transmits the data to the external micro-controller through the receivers’ output pins RXDx.

The transceiver can operate at voltages from 5,5 V to 18 V and supports 12-V applications. It has a low quiescent current consumption in sleep mode and stand-by mode, said the company. It can minimize power consumption in the event of a failure, they continued. The transceiver can be placed in sleep or normal mode via a signal on the pins SLPx_N. The component comes with an integrated over-temperature protection function (thermal shutdown), dominant time out function, as well as a bus pull-up responder terminator resistor.
